Well, he still sounds better to us than Banksy!

Our enchantment with Art Room, a MONA Project at the Russell Industrial Center, is also keeping us happy this holiday season – and Mr. Peeps Takes a Vacation, the current Jef Bourgeau offering, proves a marvelous and unexpected gift - both on Noel Night and open house this Saturday, December 10th from 6pm to 10pm.

The fictional (we hope!) curriculum vitae of the titular gentleman included quite a few interesting tidbits. For example: "As the manager of several parking lot flea markets, Peeps has had easy access to an encyclopedia of character and models that now inform his work. Still, it was only after his name made the national registry of sex offenders that he achieved some prominence as an artist."

Seriously, now, who could resist creative works from someone like that?

And don't resist the urge to check out what Mr. Peeps (ably assisted by Jessica Hopkins) has already unveiled at MONA in Pontiac.

More of this rapturous rap sheet is to be found at detroitmona.com. Now someone play the theme from Dragnet, please.
